Your memories of Manchester United Away
Apologies if done, already.

1-0 in the FA Cup (2001). Fantastic. Paolo making a fool out of Barthez.

1-0 win in 01/02 - Defoe with a header. Good season, that. Finished 7th in the end. Haven't finished as high as that since then.

Great Escape win at the end of 06/07 - Tevez with his ICONIC goal.

Shit ones:

1-7 in 99/00. 1-0 with Wanchope on the scoresheet. Fucking horror show after that.

0-6 in 02/03 in the FA Cup. That useless cunt Gary Breen was at fault in some form for every goal. Should've been 10-0 (or more) to them.

Been quite a few other shit games there but I'll leave it at that.

1986 FA Cup 6th Round. Lost 4-2. As Russ Abbott would say "oh what an atmosphere!!" I was sitting on the fence at the front of the terracing and a golf ball thrown by the Mancs from the seats behind missed me by about half inch.

That shitty little narrow terrace they had, where you were basically surrounded by northern wankers.

First time I went there I paid £30 for a £6 ticket from a tout, which was a lot for a paper boy like I was at the time!!

Lost 2-1 with a consolation from Frank and I can't help thinking it was one of the first ever appearances for Giggs.

Unfortunately we was in the main stand at the time and the locals near us didn't take to kindly

Re: Your memories of Manchester United Away
The 4-2 loss of course in was it '82. Kicking off everywhere that day. Pelted with coins and cig butts. Giving it back to them. I seem to remember we had our own Lasagngate as a lot of first team players came down with virus before.

But we gave it a go.

Re: Your memories of Manchester United Away
Last time I was up there was 1988, and there was a load of us from our coach with seat tickets in with the mancs. When it came time to try and get in with the away fans after so we could all get back on our coach together, I had to show my tattoo to the old bill to get them to let us in.

For some strange reason, our London accents were not enough to convince them. These days they probably don't trust those with manc accents, as they are obviously City fans trying it on.

New Years Day 2001
Lost 1-3. 1200 of us made the trip up.

Had little idea I'd be back there three and a half weeks later for the cup game.

I didn't go to the game the following season but I did have a tenner on 1-0 Defoe at 110/1. Still remains my biggest return on a single bet.

Attended the 0-6 and haven't been there since... until Sunday.
